Ecocel Refurbishment Centre

The aim is to reduce the environmental impact of replacing components and the relevant disposal thereof, by giving used components a new lease of life, reducing landfill & waste and ultimately, conserving the energy required to manufacture new products.

Ecocel Refurbishment Centre

This year Ecocel aim to change the mindset of the wind industry by introducing our refurbishment centre.

The aim is to reduce the environmental impact of replacing components and the relevant disposal thereof, by giving used components a new lease of life, reducing landfill & waste and ultimately, conserving the energy required to manufacture new products.

How are we going to do this?

Ecocel have taken ownership of 1000s of used parts by engaging with SPR during their Gamesa pitch system improvement campaign (can we hyperlink the highlighted text to link to the other project?) and engaged with relevant OEMs to create bespoke overhaul procedures and manuals designed to create “as new” refurbished/overhauled parts.

Parts identified include:

  • Balluff Position sensors
  • Vicker Dan Foss Proportionate Valves
  • Parker Bladder type Accumulators
  • Hydraulic Rams
  • Cylinder holders (Known as half moons)
  • Pitch Knuckles

What’s next?

Whilst we have identified a limited list of components, mentioned above, as suitable for refurbishment/overhaul, we don’t want to stop there.

Our R&D team are committed to further developing our refurbishment centre in the future with some exciting opportunities in work.
